Frequently Asked Questions About ABKT Knives

What is American Buffalo Knife and Tool (ABKT)?

American Buffalo Knife and Tool, known as ABKT, is a Tennessee-based cutlery and multi-tool company focused on delivering reliable, well-crafted knives at competitive prices. ABKT produces three main product lines: Cattleman, Roper, and Elite, each built around a distinct style and intended use. The brand is designed for everyday carry, outdoor work, ranch use, and hunting.

What are the differences between the Cattleman, Roper, and Elite lines?

The Cattleman line draws on classic Western and traditional ranch patterns, featuring multi-blade folders with Delrin or jigged-bone handles, 8CR13 stainless steel blades, and mirror-polished bolsters with the signature bull head insert. The Roper line blends Western styling with modern materials, using carbon steel blades, Zebrawood and Delrin handles, and designs suited for ranch work and outdoor carry. The Elite line is built for performance-focused users, with D2 tool steel blades, ball-bearing pivot systems, flipper tabs, and G10 or tactical handle materials designed for EDC and demanding field use.

What blade steels does ABKT use?

ABKT uses several blade steels depending on the product line. Cattleman folders use 8CR13 stainless steel for ease of maintenance and corrosion resistance. Roper models frequently use 1065 carbon steel, which holds a keen edge and sharpens easily in the field. Elite models feature D2 tool steel for exceptional edge retention and wear resistance, and select limited-edition knives are built with 57-layer Damascus steel.

Does ABKT offer a warranty on its knives?

Yes. Every ABKT knife is covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for the life of the original owner. Normal wear and misuse are excluded. To submit a warranty claim, complete the online warranty form at ABKT.com and upload proof of purchase. You will receive a confirmation email with an RMA number if service is required.

Where can I buy ABKT knives?

ABKT knives are available directly through the ABKT online shop at abkt.com, as well as through select authorized retailers and online marketplaces. Purchasing directly from ABKT.com ensures you receive genuine products and have direct access to customer service and warranty support.
